Nationally Important Sites

Historic Parks & Gardens in Bucks on the
Historic England Register of Parks & Gardens of Special Historic Interest

Many of these have links which will take you to sites where you can discover more about them. All of these sites, and their Historic England Register entries, can be found on the Parks & Gardens UK website, the links below take you to other sites, which may be of interest. Quite a lot of the parks and gardens, particularly those in the south of the county have featured in films and TV series, given their location close to Pinewood, Denham and other film studios.

Just because a garden is listed here, it does not mean that it is open to the public.

There are well over 350 gardens, parks and other designed landscapes of potential historic interest in our historic county (we still like to include Slough and its surroundings despite the boundary changes made in the last century!). Many of these are listed on the Parks & Gardens UK website, our sister organisation. Those we have researched are on our new And the rest page.

In 2014 we started a Research and Recording Group to study these sites and compile Reports on them, which should help protect them for the enjoyment of future generations. If you would like to find out more why not join in.
